What is the ECO4 Scheme?
The Energy Company Obligation 4 (ECO4) is a government-mandated programme that requires large energy suppliers to fund energy-saving improvements in eligible homes. Running from April 2022 until March 2026, ECO4 focuses on a whole-house, fabric-first approach to improve properties to at least EPC band D where practical.
Unlike previous ECO phases, ECO4 prioritises low-income and vulnerable households and encourages multiple measures per property — meaning you could receive insulation, heating upgrades, and renewable technology in a single installation package.

Am I Eligible for ECO4?
You may qualify for ECO4 funding if you meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Receive qualifying benefits such as Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Child Tax Credit, Income Support, or Housing Benefit
- Live in a property with an EPC rating of D, E, F, or G
- Own your home or have written landlord permission
- Live in England, Scotland, or Wales
- Have not received the same measure under a previous ECO phase
- Your household income is below the relevant threshold for your area
